| 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful:  Great for the price, By This review is from: Designer Habitat Wall Tilt Bracket for 33 - 60 inch LCD Plasma TV - Black (Electronics) I needed to secure my LG 42 inch set to the wall of my Georgian House - a wall comprising seemingly random blocks of dusty and crumbling morter inches deep or large solid drill defying lumps of stone. So it would be a useful challenge for this budget bracket. In fact all went well and after about an hour of drilling and cursing it was up and in place. A wide variety of fitments are included to cover most TV's. In part this is the problem because it can be a bit daunting at first to see so many components come from the box. They are all bagged according to type, although a couple, confusingly, share a bag and the locking bolts on the rear of the TV bracket were shipped installed but not listed on the install diagram. Also, annoyingly, although listed in the packing sheet there was no alun key supplied. But this was no big deal as a standard cross head screwdriver worked fine. Three points I would make; One. and this point has been raised before on other review(s)the Allen key is not practical and in it's present form inadeqate, I shall get round this by cutting a piece off and inserting into a suitable socket and extension. Two. The in-built spirit level which is not readily adjustable was wildly inaccurate and therefore not usable. I was equipped with my own and used this to first set the hangers onto the tv back at the same height [first make sure the tv is level when doing this]then set the wall plate level and at the required height. Three. The instructions indicate that a 1/2" masonry drill is required, I would contest this and state that the better size would be 10mm, particularly if drilling into a plastered breeze block wall, using a 10mm drill in my case did not cause any hardship... Simple to mount and holds my 40inch Samsung TV easily. Very happy with that aspect of the wall mount. My only reservation is that built in spirit level was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard, mounting this using that would have had the tv at about a 10degree angle from the horizontal, I was better off using my eye to get it straight (although borrowed my neighbours spirit level to get it perfect). |
