I have bought 2 sets and am about to order another for the bathroom.
I just love them they give off a soft candle light and have so far fooled all my guests. very realistic and last about 12 hrs without recharge. Also great for caravan where 12 volt can be saved and fire risk of candles is illiminated. Candlelight at the flick of your wrist who could ask for more!. No switches to turn off and on. many of my friends have left my home and gone home to order these. Great value and you can buy extra candles from any philips stockist who will order them for you part Number- 799012 IMAGEO LED Candle single White. I got the part number for the extra lights from philips support who were very helpful

I bought two sets of these (one red, one blue) via the Amazon offer, and i think they're brilliant. As others have said, they don't really provide enough light to read by, especially as they're coloured, but work great for just having a little mood lighting as it were. I have the red ones in my bedroom and leave them on overnight when i sleep. The batteries last an age in them, not done any timed tests, but i can go for a couple of days before they run out, with leaving them on all night both nights and most of the evenings. Take into account it can take up to 12 hours to fully charge them though.

They're also great for using in the bathroom, as they charge by induction (like an electric toothbrush) they have no exposed electrical components, and i use all 6 to create a very relaxing mood.

The only gripe i can think of is how long it takes to fully charge the candles, apart from that a great product that's much safer and in the long run cheaper then... Read more

My wife and I recently welcomed our first child into the world, and in the past 4 days since his birth, these LED candles have transformed our apartment. I simply do not have words for how amazing these things are, and I would highly, highly recommend them to anyone considering to get them.

Last week, when our son was born, he was delivered at home. Having these LED candles on hand was simply priceless. We kept the apartment quite dark and relaxed, and these candles were our main source of light. The natural flicker they have provided a natural glow to our surroundings, enhancing the calm atmosphere. Knowing that there was no risk of fire, or burning, or danger of smoke was a key factor in this. This product totally works, my son is only 22 mths old, but 5 days later it had completely changed his waking times from 4am to 6am! And 9 days in, he's now consistently waking up between 6.15 - 6.30am. Below is how I did it -

My 22 mth old son has always been a bit of a challenging sleeper, but recently it was just getting ridiculous. 4am starts told me that something needed to be done (not least of all because my husband was away, so I was doing all the early morning starts!) Anyway, I invested in a groclock after a friend recommended one. I have to say, I was a bit dubious, my son is only 22 mths old, and I wondered if he'd actually understand what was going on.

The first day I got it, we read the accompanying book a couple of times, then I spent 3 x 5min sessions with him running through the demo mode, so we saw the sun wink (bye bye Mr Sun!) and turn into the star (Night night! Sleeping time! - we pretended to go to sleep) then into the sun again... Read more

I bought this a few weeks ago for my 3 year old son who kept getting up ridiculously early, whatever time he had gone to bed. As he has been growing out of daytime sleeps he was getting really tired and bad tempered in the day.
The price nearly put me off but the clock seemed a good design and I decided to give it a try over the holidays. It has worked perfectly. He has enjoyed setting it in the evenings (watching the sun close its eyes and change into the moon) and comes into our room at 7.30am with a beaming smile every morning telling us that the sun has come up. He has always had a night light in his bedroom and this doubles up as that, plus you can alter the brightness.
Setting it up initially was quite straightforward and if you unplug it to move it or to take away on holiday, it retains the settings. The fact that it can also be set to display digital time and has an audio alarm if required means that it will go on to be useful as he gets older.

We bought this clock for our son for his birthday, when he turned 3 a month ago. He had been waking at 5.30 - 6.30 wanting to get into our bed or to get us sleeping on the floor in his room.

We showed him the demo of Moon with stars countdown and how "Mr Sunshine" would appear when it was "morning" - we optimistically chose 7am. From the first day it worked - I must say I was amazed, he did wake me at 5.30 to tell me the moon was still there for a couple of days.

But he is now checking before he shouts us in the morning - we hear him stir then go quiet if it's pre-7am, then we are woken with a cheery, "Mummy it's morning - the sunshine is here".

My friend has had similar joy with hers too.

Well worth a try - and the clock is lovely addition to boy or girl's nursery - much nicer than the other "pre-time-telling" clocks available.

In our household we don't have much hard flooring but we still all try our best to avoid getting the job of cleaning it. Using a mop to clean floors is quite a long and arduous process and personally I hate it profusely.

Enter the Vax S2 Steam Cleaner.
First off, setting this machine up is incredibly easy, removing the water tank was uncomplicated and as was re connecting it to the device. There are also two screws which are their to hold the unit together more securely which provided no issues.

Placing the micro-fibre cloth onto the floor head was easy as well which tightens with a simple drawstring.

Once connected to power the unit heated up in less than a minute which I was very impressed with - seems like it produces hot water faster than our kettle does!

The actual cleaning process was equally impressive.
I thought that our kitchen floor was clean - it had been cleaned the day before.

I'm pretty delighted with this lightweight and steamy cleaning toy!

For a full and very detailed account do see another reviewer chrishamer, who has given just about all the details you need to get on well with your Steam Stick.

All I can really say is it certainly does deep-clean lino. I thought I'd clean the kitchen floor as I was tapping my toes waiting for delivery, and it seemed a good idea to clean the floor FIRST (like washing your hair before going to the hairdressers!) since I wondered whether the Vax could improve on mop and cleaning product, and maybe go one better. A resounding YES. I would have said my floor was clean. However, the little cloth cover which you have to fix over the base, through which the steam comes, quickly became a little grubby. So - floor not as squeaky clean with the mop as I'd thought. Now it looks pristine.

The big advantage is the floor only gets damp, not wet, as you work, so drying is pretty instantaneous... Read more

We bought this to replace a Home-Tek steam mop that has given up after some 2 years of bi-weekly use, the Vax is much easier to fill with water as it has a removable water tank that can be filled from a tap, whereas the Home -Tek needs to be filled by a jug through a small hole. The biggest advantage of the Vax is that the triangular mop heads use draw strings to secure themselves over the head, this works well and allows the head to clean into corners and edges, the Home- Tek uses smaller pads that are fixed by Velcro to the underside of the head, these were always catching on the joints of our slate floors and rucking up, and didn't allow you clean right up to edges, a right pain that we are glad to see the back of. We have bought a couple of the longer micro fibre mop heads that work much beter, as they are more absorbant they can hold more dirt before needing rinsing out. It does take a modicum of effort to push it around the floor, but we think this friction cleans the floor... Read more
